Why?

Checking the adequacy of the fire performance of flat entrance doors (and doors to stairways, ancillary rooms, etc.) is one of the most important parts of Norbury House's fire safety strategy. 

 

Following the Grenfell Fire checks of residential front doors and communal fire doors is a legal requirement.  Refer: Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022: fire door guidance (accessible) - GOV.UK

​To check flat entrance doors properly, Norbury House Management Committee have appointed RGC Construction to undertake the task.  Richard and Louise will require access to your individual flats.  This will need require your co-operation.

​

​​In checking each door, there is need to ensure the door self-closes effectively from any angle, overcoming the resistance of any latch. This is essential to ensure that when residents leave a flat, the door closes automatically behind them.  This would contain smoke and fire.

Survey Schedule

Front door assessment work is scheduled to commence Monday 8th September 2025.  The work will be completed by the Surveying Contractor RGC Builders Ltd.
